| Osteoporosis Detection - Patient Information |
 Our
bone densitometry equipment measures bone density precisely, providing
valuable information in the assessment of osteoporosis.
OI offers two types of Osteoporosis
Detection: The exam is quick, painless and very accurate. For a heel study, you will remain fully-clothed, just removing your left shoe and sock (if you are wearing nylons you may leave them on) - the exam will last 3-5 minutes and the technologist will be with you at all times. Please note: If you have had a heel fracture on your left foot please let the technologist know - they will need to screen your right foot. Your results will generally be available to your physician in approximately 2-3 days, depending upon whether we need to obtain other outside comparison exams.
