Oregon Imaging Centers provides comprehensive imaging services for children. You can review information specific to your child's scan by selecting from the 'study type' menu in the left column.
At Oregon Imaging Centers, every child is special and unique. We believe that it is our special privilege and responsibility to deliver the highest quality pediatric imaging. Our staff is specially trained to put our youngest patients at ease by answering their questions in a way that is easy to understand. We know that the imaging environment can seem strange to a child. We take extra time to reassure them before beginning an examination. In most cases, we encourage a parent or guardian to remain in the room with their child during a scan. Our goal is for you and your child to feel relaxed and confident, which helps us capture the very best images.
Who interprets your child's images is just as important as the images themselves. A sub-specialized pediatric radiologist is a physician who has specific training to interpret children's medical images.
What is the image gently pledge?
Oregon Imaging Centers has taken the image gently pledge to "child-size" the radiation dose for our pediatric patients. CT scans children's save lives every day by helping your physician make a diagnosis. However, Oregon Imaging Centers has pledged to advocate for conservative use of CT scans for children. We are working with pediatricians in our community to ensure children are scanned only when necessary and when we do have to scan them, that they are exposed to the smallest amount of radiation possible. We have also pledged that we will develop protocols specifically for children which minimize the amount of radiation they are exposed to during a CT scan or x-ray.
